UFC heavyweight contender Josh Hokit has faced significant backlash, including criticism from fellow fighter Valter Walker, after he made offensive comments about the son of fellow UFC star Ian Machado Garry.

Hokit, who is nearing a potential title shot in the heavyweight division following his victory over Derrick Lewis, has previously made controversial statements. He recently garnered national attention for his remarks about former First Lady Michelle Obama during a UFC interview.

The latest controversy erupted when Hokit responded to a video of Ian Machado Garry's son crying after being unable to meet fighter Islam Makhachev. Hokit's shocking reply was, "Try to play that game and have your kid shake my hand. I’d punt that f—— kid."

Hokit's comments were met with widespread disapproval from fans on social media. Valter Walker, another UFC heavyweight, was particularly vocal in his condemnation. In a tweet, Walker described Hokit as "a complete idiot" for his actions, stating, "Any jacka– with two personalities, just so he can hide behind one of them, is a complete idiot." Walker added, "Just shut up. 'Incredible s—.'"

As of now, Hokit has not responded to Walker's remarks. Walker recently secured a submission victory over Thomas Petersen at UFC Abu Dhabi.

With Hokit's career trajectory pointing towards a potential heavyweight title opportunity, his controversial behavior is alienating many within the division. It's possible that Hokit and Walker could find themselves on a collision course in the Octagon given their current successes.
